  83. This package contains the sTOP tHAT(TM) Windows Keyboard Enhancement
  84. (Version 2.1), by wave software.  This document contains only a brief
  85. description of the package and its features, along with instructions for
  86. its installation.  Quite detailed documentation is included in the
  87. package, but it is in archived form, and is more easily read after
  88. installation.

  90. sTOP tHAT is a Windows utility to allow the Caps Lock key to behave in
  91. the same way as a typewriter.  The PC Shift keys reverse the Caps Lock
  92. key so if the Caps Lock is on, and you press the Shift key, yOU TYPE
  93. THIS.

  95. sTOP tHAT changes the shift key so it behaves the same as an IBM
  96. typewriter: A Shift key guaranties an uppercase character.

  98. sTOP tHAT is a shareware program.  This evaluation version includes
  99. all features of the program, and is not crippled in any way.  You may
  100. use it for up to 30 days, without charge.  If you like the program, and
  101. wish to continue its use after this evaluation period, you are required
  102. to pay for the program (see REGISTER.DOC for more details or use the
  103. "Registration" menu choice).  Any fee you may have paid to others (disk

  135. Installing sTOP tHAT:
  136.     To install:
  137.  
  138.        1) Create the subdirectory where you wish sTOP tHAT to be.  This
  139.           can be any new or existing directory, and DOES NOT need to be
  140.           in the computer's PATH statement.
  141.  
  142.        2) Use PKUNZIP (or similar program) to UNZIP the file STOPTH.ZIP
  143.           in the new directory.
  144.  
  145.        3) From Program Manager (or similar windows shell),
  146.           pick FILE | NEW | Program Item to add the icon for sTOP tHAT.
  147.  
  148.        4) Enter the path to the directory where you placed STOPTHAT.EXE.

  151.     In most cases, sTOP tHAT icon is placed in the StartUP folder so
  152.     that it is run every time Windows starts.
  153.  
  154. Upgrading from a previous version of sTOP tHAT:
  155.     Make sure that ALL file from the previous version are deleted
  156.     BEFORE installing the new version.  sTOP tHAT marks its .DLL
  157.     files as read-only.  To upgrade:
  158.  
  159.        Under Windows:
  160.           1) Using File Manager, mouse click into the directory
  161.              where STOPTHAT.EXE is.
  162.  
  163.           2) Select the files KEY.DLL (or STKEY.DLL), REG.DLL and
  164.              CTL3D.DLL.

  166.           3) Press the Del key.
  167.  
  168.           4) Answer "YES" when prompted to delete a read-only
  169.              file.

  171.        Under DOS:
  172.           1) Change the directory where STOPTHAT.EXE is.

  174.           2) Type:   attrib -r *.dll
  175.  
  176.           3) Type:   del *.dll
  177.  
  178.        Then copy the new version of sTOP tHAT to the directory
  179.        and run.

  181. What if I want to uninstall the program?
  182.     All Wave Software programs are designed to run independently of any
  183.     system modifications.  Your AUTOEXEC.BAT, CONFIG.SYS, WIN.INI, and
  184.     SYSTEM.INI files are not changed in any way by our products.
  185.  
  186.     To uninstall a Wave Software program, simply delete the program
  187.     files. In some cases, there will be a private .INI file in the
  188.     windows directory.  The .INI file will have the name of the Wave
  189.     application program as its name.  This file may also be deleted.

  192. What do I get if I register?
  193.     The price is $10.95.  If you register sTOP tHAT, you will
  194.     receive an unlock code.  This code will show that the program
  195.     has been registered on the start up splash screen.  If you chose
  196.     to receive a disk, the latest version will be sent to you for
  197.     an additional $5.00.  In most cases, the version that you
  198.     download will be current, and there is no need to receive the disk.
